"Disappointed with Punctuality and Reliability" - GWR Managing Director Mark Hopwood assesses their performance across Cornwall
He answers listener questions on reliability, passenger comfort, fares, catering and more

I have a lot of sympathy and respect for Mark / the position he's in.  At the same time he is the person responsible for that very punctuality and reliability that disappoints him.  It will be very interesting to see where we are, and indeed where Mark is, a year from now with GWR being nationalised.  I do hope that the skills, expertise, experieicence, knowledge that so many of the team have is not lost or suppressed, but rather is allowed to productively bloom.

No 175s out today. Not yet.

Did he say they have 5/6 working 175s. This is from 16 trains they have. Is he saying the next 10 trains that come from Wolverton (they have 9, 1 still at Ely) will go straight into service. It has not happened yet. The last was June 23 and disappeared into Exeter depot.
I think the next arrival from Wolverton has been cancelled twice which has been par for the course.

They are having a third go at getting one from Wolverton tomorrow

If it is actually usable for service (if it actually makes it) is a different question

I think we all know that the West won't ever see new trains.
